Remember I was taking my GED tests back in May to get a GED. I received in the mail today a big envelope. It included my GED test scores and a High School Diploma. Chuck and I are going to go register at the local college next week. I am very excited about starting school in the fall. I made a perfect 800 (100) on one section of the tests and in Math I made 92%. That is awesome. Oh and one bummer .. the writing part I only made 570 on. I had to make above 410 to pass. I thought I would have done better there. They didn’t like my essay boo hoo. I still passed!
Brittany’s school gets out for the summer today. She has had her share of difficulties through the year, but has managed to pass the 3rd grade. Her teacher was so pleased with her end of the year test scores that she called me at 7:30 am to tell me the news. I am proud that she put forth the effort even if it was late in the year.
Speaking of tests and end of the year, Chuck has finished yet another semester at the local college. We are all proud of him wanting to learn something new and having the guts to do it. With all the schooling those two have done I decided to get in on the act too. I took the GED after 15 years of procrastination. We are waiting for the results. I know I passed. I can’t wait to sign up at the college for classes for fall.
This summer we will be preparing Vincent for Pre-school this coming school year. He is ready to be doing something other then hanging around the house. Both the older kids enjoy going with Grandma to church for activities. They both sing in choirs on Wed. nights as well as attend on Sundays. I hope to find more activities to get involved with for them over the summer. In July Brittany will go to see her bio-father in SC. She is excited about the trip.
The youngest Chelsea is really a bright star. She can hold her own with the older children and lets them know when she is not happy. I am amazed daily at her understanding of things. She loves helping her dad unload the dishes from the dishwasher. She also enjoys coloring and reading books with me. We will have our hands full this summer with the kids being home. I am sure some type of schedule will be arranged to keep us on tasks.
Chuck interviewed with a very prestigious company. We all hopes he gets offered the opportunity to work there. It would mean a lot of changes for our family.. good changes. We all have hopes for good things to come.
